Bread of Life Church International (BLCI) was born from a prophetic word on 13th<\/sup> September 1992. At the time, BLCI was known as Emmasdale Church with a little over 120 members situated at plot no. 136, Chinyunyu road in Lusaka\u2019s Emmasdale, Zambia. The Lord gave a clear word; \u201cI am giving you thousands, you will possess the land and feed the people with the Bread of Life.\u201d\u00a0 Therefore, the prophetic word gave birth to the vision of the church, \u201cBringing thousands into the Kingdom\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The prophetic word \u201cI am giving you thousands, you will possess the land and feed the people with the Bread of life\u201d was later transformed to \u201cBringing thousands into the Kingdom\u201d which was in line with the vision of the church. CHILDREN\u2019S MINISTRY<\/h4>

The Children\u2019s Ministry is a vibrant department in Bread of Life Church which is established to carter for the development support of children from age 3 to 16 years. MUSIC MINISTRY<\/h4>

This is the ministry which functions as the heart of Praise and Worship at church. It is responsible for Sunday worship, singing auditions, holding of concerts in order to enhance the quality of praise and worship. General Overseer's Profile<\/h2>

Bishop Joseph Imakando answered the call of God to minister in 1976. Thereafter, he attended Bible College in Kenya and the United Kingdom. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Bishop Imakando is the General Overseer of Bread of Life Church International providing oversight to all the branch and mission churches as well as the Senior Pastor of the church at the Headquarters in Emmasdale, Lusaka. He is an apostle, teacher, author, conference speaker, broadcaster, bridge builder and advisor whose ministry has taken him to many nations. He previously served as the Chairperson of the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia for 10 years and is currently a member of the African Apostolic Council. <\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

He served as a Baptist Church Pastor for 9 years before resigning to serve the wider body of Christ as the Executive Director for the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ), an umbrella body that unites Pentecostal and Evangelical churches in Zambia. Having served faithfully at EFZ, he answered the call and returned to full time ministry under Bread of Life Church.<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 1990, Bishop Imakando had an encounter with the Holy Spirit that transformed his life; he encountered the person and power of the Holy Spirit as he experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit. As a result of this encounter, there was a tangible change in his life and ministry which was also evidenced in his preaching and ministration of God\u2019s word. \nIn August 1992, while in Lagos, Nigeria, God gave him a vision that led to the birth of Bread of Life Church International. \n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

About Our Branch Churches<\/h2>

When the Lord gives a word, He is faithful to bring it to pass. The prophetic word has proved to be the power of God behind Bishop Joseph Imakando\u2019s work as the Church has grown significantly over the years and keeps growing. As it was said of the New Testament church, the Lord keeps adding to Bread of Life Church. To date, the Church has had the privilege of planting 135 branch churches across the ten provinces of Zambia and 13 mission churches in various foreign countries. The mission churches include (2) Australia, (1) Democratic Republic of Congo, (1) Malawi, (1) Namibia, (3) South Africa, (2) Tanzania, (2) United Kingdom and (1) Zimbabwe.
